Bennie Allain

“Old Post”

Bennie spent this past winter reacquainting himself with the east coast, with drawing and with oil painting. These are some of the things he worked on this winter in Saint John, a town known for is working-class spirit.
The artwork has been hung in the spirit of posting meaningful letters on the Post Office Bulletin board in an historically accurate attempt. Specifically, no new holes were made in this historic wall to hang the pieces in this exhibition.

About the Artist

Bennie spent the winter posted on the east coast learning how to draw again. He relearned stories from some family history and gently rested his chin on his hand while his elders carried on about lobster plants, brazenness, laziness, soft hockey, rural entertainment and E.I. He also was reminded of the efficiency of a simple chicken fricot.
