Sunday June 14th
Noon – Miriam Behman Artist Talk at Peabody’s P.B.G. Gallery
“A Passing Glimpse“
A small collection of recent weavings by Miriam Behman. This small collection of weavings are inspired by her recent attendance of artist residencies in Eagle Plains, Yukon (2024) and Svalbard, Norway (2025). The works bring together images of northern landscapes, staring at each other across the Arctic Ocean. Miriam uses handweaving as an intervention in her photographs and a means of slowing down image-making. The hazy quality of the images stem from a desire to capture the murky quality of memory. In this series, she finds parallels between memory and melting landscapes; between recollection and disappearance.
