Camera Obscura – (Front Street, beside the Gazebo)
Open 10am – 4pm daily

Latin for “black room,” the camera obscura is an optical device dating from 300-400 BC which projects an image of its surroundings on its walls through a lens in the side of its structure. The camera obscura was an instrumental step in the development of the optical sciences and led the way to the invention of photography.

A gallery exhibition combining the fluid, wild and unruly lines of marbling with careful, regulated and intentional stitches of embroidery; dichotomous concepts that also exist within the artist.

The Confluence Series at the SOVA Gallery is a community exhibition series which offers a space for KIAC members working in any medium to exhibit their artwork throughout the summer months: Expanded Field is a new studio-based course at SOVA, offered for the first time in the winter of 2022. Over the course of the semester eight local artists worked to develop new projects and independent studio practices, while participating in student-led seminars and group critiques. Featuring works by Amy Ball, Ange Bonnici, Angela Edmonds, Basia Hinton, Annie Kierans, Jenni Matchett, Andy Pelletier, and Bo Yeung
