Gallery Hop – APPLY NOW!

The Klondike Institute of Arts & Culture is happy to announce that the Yukon Riverside Arts Festival (YRAF) will once again feature a town-wide Gallery Hop!
We invite all local artists and businesses to participate!

The Gallery Hop is a fun, self-directed community-wide evening art walk that takes place on Thursday, June 13th, 2024 from 7pm to 10pm, in Dawson City kicking off the 24th Annual Yukon Riverside Arts Festival. It is a unique opportunity for visual artists to collaborate with local businesses creating one-night-only “pop-up galleries” to display and/or sell artwork to a steady stream of visitors and customers throughout the evening. As well, local businesses, organizations and institutions are invited to host all manner of performances, special events and art related activities

I am a local artist, how can I participate?

Artists are invited to participate and get creative by:

• Exhibiting and/or selling artwork in unusual “pop-up” venues across town.
• Creating an immersive installation or experience.
• Offering a musical, theatrical or experimental performance.
• Hosting an interactive experience, such as a treasure hunt, collaborative art piece, improv, open mic, etc.
• Hosting an opening or “special event” in tandem with the exhibit or installation.
• Other forms of artistic expression and creation that can fit the art crawl format

I own a local business, how can I participate?

In a similar vein as Thaw-di-Gras, this is a chance to host a fun activity and invite customers and visitors into your space in an exciting and celebratory way.

Businesses and organizations are invited to participate by:

• Selecting an artist to host or offering their space to host an artist provided by KIAC
• Scheduling a musical performance for that evening
• Hosting art related activities, such as “drink and draw”, open mic or themed night
• Participating in our Hoppy Hour
