Long Walk Collective

Plant Encounters

Plant Encounters is an online publication of works by 30 artists and writers exploring relationships between people and the plants of the 9th Avenue Trail in Dawson City, Yukon. A sneak peak of the work was installed at the SOVA Confluence Gallery over the festival weekend and the full virtual exhibition can be viewed at www.longwalkcollective.org.

The goal of Plant Encounters is to facilitate intimacy with and further understanding of the flora of the trail, even over great distances. Our hope is that by celebrating the individual plants and their relationships to people, we can contribute to a culture of reciprocity on this well-used trail.
