Jennifer Bieber

“Body”

“Fear of the unknown can invite anxiety to fill our insides. As long as I can remember I’ve been afraid of what’s happening in my body, and the anxious uncertainty has long taken up space in my mind, in conversations, and interrupted my sleep. Body is my attempt to communicate with my organs, to connect with pieces of myself, and to alleviate my anxiety through deepening my understanding of how things function. I used video recordings to follow my sewing of the textile representations in an effort to capture an unspoken conversation between my mind and my guts.”
